Description
The U. S. Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated value of this procurement (including the base and option items) is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. The NAICS is: 336611, the small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for the dockside repair of the USCGC CYPRESS (WLB 201) a 225FT ?B? Class Buoy Tender whose homeport is in Mobile, AL. Repairs are to be performed at the vessel?s homepier. This work will include, but is not limited to: Base items: (1) .Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel Marine (DFM) Service tanks; (2) Clean and Inspect Ballast Tanks; (3) Clean and inspect Sewage and Holding Tanks; (4) Clean and Inspect Controllable Pitch Propeller (CPP) Heat Exchanger; (5) Preserve Buoy Deck Covering; (6) Reseal Latex Terrazzo or Cosmetic Polymeric Deck Covering System; (7) Relocate Reducing Valves; (8) Inspect and Test Anchor Windlass (Level 1); (9) Overhaul Auxiliary Sea Water Circulating Pump; (10) Inspect and Test Warping Capstan (Level 1); (11) Clean and Inspect Sewage Pumps; (12) Calibrate Critical Meters and Guages; (B) GFP Report; (C) Travel and Per Diem Option items: (1) Composite Labor Rate. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. At the present time, this acquisition will be issued under full and open competition procedures. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please respond by e-mail to mcorse@mlca.uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4675/76. In your response please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers and (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by July 25, 2002. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a HUBZone set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a HUBZone small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted in the GPE.
