Description

The U.S. Agency for International Development, Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (USAID/DCHA/OFDA) coordinates and provides U.S. Government humanitarian assistance in response to natural disasters and complex emergencies caused by civil strife, war, and lack of security. The Disaster Response and Mitigation Division within OFDA develops, coordinates, and monitors disaster response activities. It also develops and implements activities designed to prevent, prepare for and mitigate the effects of disasters. Functions include disaster response coordination and management, grants management, humanitarian information coordination, planning, monitoring and evaluation. This position is in a fast-paced office with frequently changing priorities. Staff performs a variety of duties and must possess the ability to multitask and move quickly from one task to another. Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and understanding systems, databases and authorities are required.
