- MODIFICATION: THIS NOTICE IS BEING MODIFIED TO WITHDRAW THE REQUIREMENT FOR 100% SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. THIS IS TO BE PROCURED ON AN UNRESTRICED BASIS. IN ADDITION THE BID OPENING DATE IS EXTENDED TO AUGUST 15, 2003. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid West Area has a project entitled Roadway Improvements. The project is located at the USDA, ARS, Dairy Forge Research Center, Madison, Wisconsin. This work includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to perform and complete the following: Base Bid includes 700 square yards of PCC pavement, 5,000 square yards of Bituminous cover and seal coat, 850 ton Bituminous binder and surface course, 2,350 square yards of removal of existing pavement and replaced with new bituminous pavement and 360, lineal feet of concrete curb and gutter. The period of performance for Base Bid is 100 days. Option I includes construction of the livestock holding area. This includes approximately 130 square yards of PCC pavement, 150 square yards of gravel surfacing, 200 lineal feet of concrete curb and gutter,450 lineal feet of drainage tile and related drainage structures. The period of performance for Option I is 20 days. Option II includes apply a bituminous seal coat (two coats) to 1,150 square yards of pavement, installation of 110 square yards of additional pavement, and construction of new parking area for four cars. Incidental work includes grading and parking lot striping. The period of performance for Option II is 10 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be required. Estimated price range for Base Bid and All Options are: Between 100,000 and 250,000. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 237310 , Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about June 6, 2003, with opening date 30 days later.
