Description
MODIFICATION: THIS NOTICE IS BEING MODIFIED TO WITHDRAW THE REQUIREMENT FOR 100% SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. THIS IS TO BE PROCURED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid West Area has a project entitled Renovation of Barn 133. The project is located at the USDA, ARS, National Animal Disease Center, Ames, Iowa. This work includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to perform and complete the following: The Barn 133 project will generally consist of renovation of the existing ten (10) animal pens located in barn 133. The project includes removal of two (2) CMU pen fronts (including two (2) doors), removal of two (2) switches servicing the two walled in pens, cutting and repairing eight (8) openings in eight (8) precast concrete walls, coating walls of ten (10) animal rooms with concrete sealer, removal of ten (10) bowl type waterers, installation of ten (10) nipple type waterers (adjustable in height), fabrication and installation of two (2) pipe pen panel fronts with gate and headlocks, removal of existing floor material down to bare concrete in ten (10) animal rooms, installation of high solids built up epoxy flooring in eight (8) animal rooms, fabrication and installation of two (2) new corridor gates and modification of two (2) existing pipe panel pen fronts. The period of performance is 90 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. A Payment Bonds shall be required. Estimated price range is: Between $25,000 and $100,000. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about July 16, 2003, with opening date 30 days later.
