Description
MODIFICATION: THIS NOTICE IS BEING MODIFIED TO WITHDRAW THE REQUIREMENT FOR 100% SET ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESS CONCERNS. THIS IS TO BE PROCURED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS. United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, Mid West Area has a project entitled Remove and replace asbestos wall panels and upgrade quarantine room HVAC. The project is located at the USDA, ARS, Biological Control of Insects Laboratory, Columbia, Missouri. This work includes, but is not limited to furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, and other necessary work to perform and complete the following: (1) Removing about 1110 square feet of asbestos wall panels in the greenhouse and replacing them with fiberglass wall board; (2) removing the quarantine room A/C unit and replacing it with a heating -A/C unit and removing and replacing the existing exhaust fan and lighting; (3) removing and replacing a portion of the quarantine room wall so that a large piece of equipment can be placed in the room; (4) add a special sanitizing sink to the quarantine room; and (5) remove the remaining asbestos pipe insulation from the mechanical room and replace it with other insulation. The period of performance is 150 days. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the Specifications and Drawings. A Payment Bonds shall be required. Estimated price range is: Between $25,000 and $100,000. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for Small Business. John Quist, Barr Engineering Company, is the contact for this solicitation. All requests for a solicitation package must reference IFB No. 5114-3-0800 and the contact name above. No telephone requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. All responsible and qualified sources may submit a bid that will be considered by the agency. A pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and information provided in the solicitation package. This will be the only opportunity to visit the job site prior to submission of bid. The anticipated IFB solicitation package will be available on or about July 16, 2003, with opening date 30 days later.
