Description

INVITATION FOR BIDS: Construction of Slip Ramp & Intersection (Richardson Avenue Access Project) Solicitation No. IFB-2003-007 The Presidio Trust, a Federal government corporation, is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors to perform construction work located at the Presidio of San Francisco. The Presidio is a National Park and a National Historic Landmark. Work will be performed on Presidio, State of California and City & County of San Francisco property, in accordance with Caltrans standard specifications. Scope of work includes: construction of a slip ramp from Richardson Avenue to Gorgas Avenue at Marshall Street; and a new signalized intersection at Gorgas Avenue and Richardson Avenue near Lyon Street. Estimated start is Spring 2004. Period of Performance is one hundred ninety (190) calendar days from NTP. The Trust anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price contract. Estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Minimum qualifications include: Valid Class A Contractor?s License; Certificate(s) of Insurance; Bonding capacity; 40-hour hazardous waste site operations training for all excavation workers. Davis Bacon Act (U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage rates) applies. A Small and Disadvantaged Business Program will be required if prime contractor is a large business. A MANDATORY pre-bid meeting and site visit is scheduled for 10:00 AM on July 28, 2003. Meet at Gorgas warehouses parking lot (entrance to lot located at intersection of Marshall Street and Gorgas Avenue) on the Presidio of San Francisco. Only those prime contractors attending the mandatory site visit may bid this contract. IFB is scheduled to be issued on or about July 16, 2003. Public Bid Opening (Bid Due Date) is scheduled to be held on August 25, 2003. Qualified small businesses (including small disadvantaged businesses, minority- and women-owned small businesses) are encouraged to respond. The Presidio Trust strongly encourages prime contractors to utilize small businesses, SDBs, HUBZone SBCs, minority-and women-owned small businesses to the fullest extent consistent with efficient contract performance. The Presidio Trust is a wholly owned federal government corporation and is not subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
