Description
The Internal Revenue Service hereby issues subject Request for Information (RFI) No. TIRNO-03-RFI-MTS notice seeking sources that can provide the following: Treasury’s DTS2 Managed Transport Service Information Session - The Dept. of Treasury’s Enhanced Information Technology Program Operations (E-ITPO) is considering the acquisition of transport services to provide the backbone for their DTS2 Network. E-ITPO will convene an Industry Conference to present the requirements of the proposed acquisition strategy and to solicit feedback of potential bidders. Competition for this award is anticipated. The work involves the installation and maintenance of a fully managed vendor owned transport service for the Metropolitan Area of Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. A full scope of Managed Services should include management reports that detail engineering activities, traffic analysis and utilization reports as well as maintenance and trouble condition detail. Service Level Agreements (SLAs) will also be developed and monitored to ensure satisfactory service delivery. The term of the new architecture is expected to be one (1) base year with four (4) optional year renewals. The Dept. of Treasury’s E-ITPO’s objective is to replace the current network topology of the DTS2 transport infrastructure with the most cost-effective, redundant, diverse, and survivable telecommunications infrastructure available. The core network consists of a Treasury owned host switch and 14 remote sites dispersed throughout Washington, DC and neighboring Maryland. The new DTS2 Transport infrastructure and capacity requirements will be based on the current network capacity. Management reports and service level agreements are a critical component of this solicitation. It is anticipated that this procurement will be awarded by September 30, 2003 and include an aggressive installation schedule.
