Description
17. Description: (i) this is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included with this notice. This announcement constitutes only the solicitation; proposals are being requested, a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is F2B3CC31910100 and is being issued as a request for quotation. (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-14. (iv) Notice: The solicitation is 100% set-aside for Small Business. The NAICS code is 423440 with a size standard not to exceed 500 employees. (v) Contract line item 0001 is for 75 custom-built high-quality equipment lockers. (vi) Description is as follows: They are to be welded lockers, without doors, utilizing unitized construction. Featuring 16 gauge all-welded construction with 16 gauge steel ends and 18 gauge intermediate partitions and back panels. The units are not to be made of a knockdown construction using rivets, nuts, and bolts. They are to have a 3 mil powder coat Air Force blue paint finish. The dimensions are 72 inches high, 18 inches wide, 24 inches deep, with a 4 inch welded enclosed toe-kick base attached to the bottom of the 72 inch unit. The locker will have 4 storage areas. Three stationary shelves will be installed. The first shelf installed at 12 inches from the top, the second shelf at 36 inches from the top, and the third at 48 inches from the top. The first and third shelf will have a hook installed on the right side of the locker. The hook should have a holding capacity of 5 pounds. It will be used to store a headset. The hook should be j shaped to prevent the headsets from accidentally falling from the hook. The second and fourth shelf area to have a side hook installed on the right side of the shelf capable of holding 10 pounds. The second and fourth shelf also to have 2 standard hanging clothes hooks installed on the back panel capable of holding 10 pounds per hook. The second and fourth shelf to have a metal rod installed capable of holding a 50-pound survival vest. Prefer the rod to be welded to the back wall and protrude outwards. The rod needs to have a finial type ending on it to prevent the vest from easily slipping off the rod. Each locker (consisting of 2 units) to have a number/name plaque attached to it. The numbers will be 1 through 75. The plaque should have a means to allow us to easily attach an aviator’s name to it. (vii) FOB: Destination. Place of delivery is 300 summit Drive Minot AFB, ND 58705. Required delivery date is 2 Sep 03. (viii) The provision of 52.212-1, Instructions to Offers-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition and a statement regarding any addenda to the provision. (ix) The provision at 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items, applies to this procurement. The evaluation procedure to be used for this procurement is price and price related factors. (x) Offers shall include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with offer. (xi) Clause 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. (xii) Clause at 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition and the additional FAR clauses cited in the clause are applicable to this acquisition: 52.222-19, 21, 26, 35, 36, 37, 52.225-1, 52.232-18, 33. (xiii) Any additional contract requirement(s) or terms and conditions (such as warranty requirement)determined by the contracting office to be necessary for this acquisition and consistent with customary commercial practices. A written Request for Quote will be attached to this synopsis and is to be returned to the requesting contracting office. A drawing with measurements will also be attached to the synopsis. (xvi) The contracting office will accept requests for solicitations through alternate means as facsimile machine at telephone number (701)-723-4172. The offers are due by 10:00 a.m. Central Daylight Time 29 July 2003.
