Description
The Agency Of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration(SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Treatment(CSAT), through the Division of Acquisition Management(DAM), Program Support Center(PSC), plans to award a 12 month sole source contract using simplified acquisition procedures to Faces and Voices of Recovery, 901 N. Washington, Suite, Suite, 601, Alexandria, VA 22314. The anticipated date of award is August 11, 2003. The purpose of this procurement is to educate the American public in order to lead the development of more enlightened approaches and practices to substantially reduce the nation's problem of addiction. Working in conjunction with current HHS/SAMHSA programs, a strong alliance and partnership was created. By teaming with FAVOR, HHS/SAMHSA expands its visibility, reputation and credibility as the federal driving force in reducing the nation's substance use disorders problems. There is a growing need for addiction education for stigma and barrier reduction for assistance to additional grass roots organizations, the treatment field, health care providers and others in local social service organizations and community-based organizations. The Contractor shall be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks: Complete a full inventory search what has been done to date on the subject of stigma and discrimination involved in alcohol and drug addiction and recovery. The Contractor shall act as a partner for SAMHSA's National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month celebration. The Contractor shall provide a letter to their constituency as well as labels for the mailing of the 2004 Recovery Month kit. In addition, the contractor shall work with SAMHSA Recovery Month Community Events/Forums to ensure the inclusion of people in the recovery community as active participants in the Events/Forums to be held in September 2004. On-going throughout contract. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source Under authority of Far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
