- Description
- The U.S. COAST GUARD (USCG) has a requirement to acquire training support services for Commercial Truck Driving training courses. The contractor shall develop and provide training in Commercial Truck Driving to prepare students to pass state examination requirements for a Commercial Drivers License (CDL). The students shall be instructed on Federal Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC) requirements, a vehicle operation procedures/requirements, weigh stations, special permits, and roadway safety and road signs. The licenses will be used for transportation of a large assortment of highly specialized heavy response equipment. It is estimated that (3) three (2) two-week courses of training will occur annually. The contractor shall provide training for up to (4) four students per class in a (2) two week course in which to prepare the students to operate a vehicle in all geographical areas safely and efficiently. This training shall take place on-site at each U.S. Coast Guard Strike Team?s facility, which will be furnished by the Government. The Government will also provide equipment (including vehicles and trailers) to the contractor solely for the performance of tasks for the duration of period of performance. The contractor shall furnish all materials (handouts, books, etc.) and services necessary to fulfill the requirements of this training and shall provide USCG certification to successful participants upon completion of the course. This contract will be awarded based upon best value to the government and it is anticipated that the contract type will be firm-fixed price with delivery schedule to be ordered via individual task orders as required. Request for Proposal will be issued on Federal Business Opportunities www.eps.gov. The Set-Aside restriction has not been determined on this procurement under NAICS 611699.
