- Description
- The Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Disability, through the Program Support Center, Acquisitions Management , intends to award a sole source Simplified Acquisition to Ms. Donna M. Cedar-Southwood. The Contractor shall be tasked to perform/writing research services in the form of seven (7) deliverables, which may be used for presentations, for submissions to outside journals for publication, op/eds, and to communicate nationally and internationally through postings on the world wide web and for other uses as deemed necessary by the Director, Department of Health and Human Services Office on Disability. The project titles for the twenty deliverables are as follows: 1 - ?How the U.S. is Responding to the Needs of Persons with Disabilities Through the President?s New Freedom Initiative?. 2 - ?Disability Health Policy and Research in the Federal Government and Private Sector?. 3 - ?Delivery of Health Services to Persons with Developmental Disabilities?. 4 - ?Current and Future Research and Technology for Persons with Disabilities?. 5 - ?Future Directions for Medical Practitioners in Treating Persons with Disabilities?. 6 - ?How the United States is Working Together with the World Health Organization and Others to Improve the Lives of Persons with Disabilities?. 7 - ?The New Freedom Initiative- - Improving the Lives of Not Only Persons with Disabilities but also, Policies and Programs to Assist Direct Service Providers and Care givers?. 8 - "How Far : Have We Come Since the ADA?" 9 - "Impact of Federal Budget on Persons with Disabilities." 10 - "State/Federal Collaborate Efforts and Why They are Necessary." 11 - "Meeting the Needs of Women with Disabilities." 12 - "The Changing Demography of Persons with Disabilities and How We Must Respond." 13 - Improving Transportation and Mobility of Those with Disabilities - - How to Meet the Challenge." 14 - Transitioning Persons with Disabilities into the Workforce and How to Best Meet Their Needs." 15 - "The New Freedom Initiative and Cross Cutting Initiatives within the Federal Government and the Private Sector." 16 - "Keeping the Promise - - How Far Have We Come in Universal Design." 17 - "Building the Community for Natural Support Systems for Persons with Disabilities." 18 - "Past, Present and Future Research in Rehabilitation Research and Cutting-Edge Technology." 19 - "Living and Working in the Community in 2004." 20 - "Measuring the Success of the New Freedom Initative - - 2001 through 2004." Ms. Cedar-Southwood is uniquely qualified with extensive and broad sweeping professional experience researching and writing scientific papers pertaining to disabilities. Ms. Cedar-Southwood is also uniquely knowledgeable and experienced with the President?s ?New Freedom Initiative? and shall perform follow-on writing and research on disabilities, as well as the crisis facing the workforce of those service providers serving those with disabilities. Anticipated award date is August 4, 2003. No solicitation will be issued.
