Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). This is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. The government estimate is between $25,000.00 to $100,000.00. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 33415. The size standard for the NAICS code is 750 employees. SCOPE OF WORK: Provide labor and materials to rebuild two (2) each, York 350 ton centrifugal chillers Model#YT D3 D3 C2 CLD, Serial # YHT M250995 & Serial # YHT M250994. The following are required: 1-Secure chiller, remove refrigerant and properly dispose. 2-Disassemble compressor assembly. 3-Clean all parts and measure against factory overhaul standards. 4-Assemble compressor using new factory parts as required and all new o-rings and gaskets that are R-123 compatible. 5-Megger compressor motor and check starter. 6-Make repairs to compressor motor and starter if needed. 7-Perform all necessary modifications to prepare chiller for the new R-123 refrigerant. 8-Assemble compressor using new compressor oil, refrigerant, filters and driers. 9-Pressurize, leak test and evacuate unit. 10-Charge unit with R-123 refrigerant. 11-Remove water box covers and re-insulate with rubber insolation. 12-Install water box covers and re-insulate with rubber insultaion. 13-Provide and install refrigerant monitoring unit. 14-Provide start-up and check system performance. 15-Work must be completed no later than 9/30/03. 16- Site visit may be arranged by contacting: Todd McCampbell, Facility Manager (tmccampbell@bop.gov) , tel. (213) 485- 0439 ext. 128 or Armando Macias , General Foreman (LOS1200@bop.gov) at ext. 112. 17-Contractors must pass a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check prior to entering any federal prisons facility. Intoxicating beverages, drugs, weapons, etc. will not be allowed and their use are strictly prohibited. All interested parties must identify their capability and response to this requirement and submit a quote in order to be considered. All compliant quotes received within ten (10) days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. All incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-14. The following clauses and provisions are incorporated by reference and apply to the acquisition: FAR 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items (Oct 2000); FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation - Commercial Terms (Jan 1999); FAR 52.212-3-Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items (Jul 2002); FAR 52.214-4 Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items (Feb 2002); FAR 52.215-5 Facsimile Proposals (Oct 1997), FAR 52.237-1 Site Visit. All quotes shall be submitted, via facsimile to Rosalinda Domingo, Contract Specialist, at 213-253-9523. All responses received by July 31, 2003 by 2:00 pm local time, will be reviewed by the Government. Quotes not received by the designated time and date will not be accepted. Award is anticipated within one (1) week after closing. This is the only solicitation and will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities web site: http://www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation document will not be available. The site provides downloading instructions. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to ensure that they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition.
