Description

The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. NO WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received from vendors who have the capability to meet the requirement will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The acquisition is unrestricted. This acquisition is considered commercial in nature and award terms will be based on FAR 12. This is a non-personal service to perform autologous, leuko-reduced, therapeutic phlebotomy blood bank services for the USAF Academy Hospital. The qualifications required to perform effectively in the aforementioned capacity include the necessary blood bank and blood handling facilities and medical personnel within a 30-minute drive of the USAF Academy. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 621511, business size standard is $11,500,000. The contractor is Penrose St. Francis Hospital, 2417 N. CASCADE AVE. Colorado Springs, CO 80907-6740. The Government intends to award an indefinite-quantity contract to Penrose St. Francis for the base year period of 01 August through 31 July 2004, and four option years. All responsible sources may submit a response, which if timely received, will be considered. Responses are due by 10 A.M. (MST) on 25 July 2003. If no comments are received by the closing date, a contract will be issued to Penrose St. Francis Hospital. Address any questions to Sheila R.
