Description

The scope of work includes the replacement of the existing Building 126 Chillers and Ventilation system. The overall layout of the new system will be as follows. Two new air-cooled chillers with integral condensing units shall be sited outside of bldg. 126. These will serve the existing 4 AHU?s via a combination of old and new piping. The coils and some other devices shall be changed and this will be better defined in the paragraphs below and in the specifications attached. There will also be 6 new ventilation systems added to the building in the old and new pressrooms. These rooms and the placement of the ventilation systems shall be included in the attached drawings. During the project, some of the current equipment will be demolished. Bldg. 126 is a mission-critical building that directly serves the war fighter. Due to this fact, the building must be kept in operation as much as possible during the course of the renovation. This RFP is solicited in accordance with the FAR simplified acquisitions procedures for commercial contracts. This will be a Best-Value RFP with technical evaluation factors included such as past performance, qualifications and technical solution/narratives, as well as price proposal requirements. The expected RFP issue date is July 30, 2003 with the expected proposals due by August 20, 2003.
