- Description
- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the ONLY solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will NOT be issued. The solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) number DTCG4403QND03104. Solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-14. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 335912 Primary Battery Mfg.; The equipment is to be shipped to US Coast Guard, Command and Control Engineering Center, Portsmouth, VA 23703. All quotes are to be FOB destination. The USCG has 58 maritime DGPS sites operating on 1000-watt transmitters. Each transmitter is commercially powered but has 12 gel-cell batteries as a back-up power supply and are wired in series for a 144 Volt stack. The most cost effective method of charging these batteries (configured with 3 rows of 4 batteries) is to use 3 (each) 48volt chargers. Each site will require 3 chargers. Enough chargers will be ordered for 10 spare sites. The item required are: 204 each Interacter 48/20 Gel-Cell Battery Chargers, factory configured for Gel-Cell charging, standard loop-type termination with an extended warranty of five years. Warranty is to be activated upon installation of equipment. The provisions at 52.212-1 Instructions to Offers Commercial and 52.212-4 contract terms and conditions-commercial items applies to this acquisition. Clause 52.212-5 contract Terms and conditions required to implement Statues or Executive Orders- Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition and a statement regarding which, if any of the additional FAR clauses cited in the clause are applicable to the acquisition, including the following FAR clauses incorporated by reference: 52.225-3 Items (Jan 1999) (1) The government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible bidder whose quote conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. Procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Parties responding to this solicitation may submit their quote in accordance with their standard commercial practices (e.g. on company letter head, formal quote form, etc. but must include the following information: (1) Company complete mailing and remittance address (2) Dun & Bradstreet number (DUNS): (3) Taxpayer ID number (TIN); (4) Representations and Certifications and (5) Product Literature.
