Description
NA This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice that TRICARE Region 6, 7, & 8 which includes 46 Military Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Nebra ska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming are in the standardization process for the product line of Suction Canisters, Tubing & Accessories. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred sourc es for hospital supply items and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Additional TRICARE Regions may elect to join after the award. Separate regional incentive agreements may be awarded for suction canisters, tubing and accessory pro duct line. Clinical Product Teams (CPTs) will evaluate these product lines. CPTs are composed of Physicians, Nurses and Clinicians who have expertise and knowledge of the products. They will review and technically evaluate the products submitted. TRICAR E Region 6, 7, 8 deems the CPT members to be medical experts. Therefore, they are qualified to determine which products are acceptable. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, presentation, demonstration or clinical evaluation. Com panies interested in having their products evaluated for possible inclusion in the standardization process should carefully review the stated requirements. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS are as follows: 1) Ability to service all MTFs in the regions identified abov e with clinical support, educational programs and utilization reports. 2) Can provide volume discounts and support a return goods policy. 3) Can provide a phased implementation plan with quarterly status, 4) Can provide a conversion chart to show competit or like items. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS are: 1) Full product line of various sized suction canisters with and without liners, with and without tubing, for sealed collection and containment of aspirated body fluids, 2.) Full product line of tubing attached or unattached to suction canisters to meet all clinical needs, 3) Suction canisters, liners and tubing adaptable to common floor and wall units, 4) Accessories include: Four canister carrier, mobile aspirator stand, suction canister holders, 5) Accurate, eas y to read calibrations and graphics, 6) Positive shut off system to prevent aspiration of body fluids into the main vacuum line, 7) Durable/shatterproof, 8) Product has FDA approval and complies with current OSHA regulations and CDC Guidelines, 9) Addition al criteria may be provided by the clinical product team as deemed necessary and will be submitted to the vendors at that time. This is not a Request for Proposal, and samples are not being requested at this time. The purpose of this notice is to seek com mercial sources that will meet the U.S. Government requirements. After you have notified the TRICARE Regional Business Office (TRBO) that your company wishes to participate, your company will be notified before the start of the standardization process for this Product Line. If your company can provide any of these products, please forward literature of all items available from your company that meet the product descriptions above and any corresponding product literature by 25 August 2003. Those companies that do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration. Distribution of these products for the MTFs will be accomplished through our Regional DOD Prime Vendor, Cardinal Health. If your company currently holds or is in the process of obtainin g a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) with the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), your company is eligible to participate in the standardization process. This information will be treated as proprietary and not rel easable. Suppliers may be required to conduct clinical trials and provide clinical samples at no cost to the government.
