- Description
- This Modification is to correct the number of radiolabeled compounds (approximately 250 instead of 50) for which the Contractor must provide suitable storage. The solicitation announcement should read as follows: The Developmental Therapeutics Program (DTP) of the National Cancer Institute's Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD) is seeking an organization having capabilities, resources and facilities for the preparation, storage and distribution of radiolabeled materials. The objective of this project is the synthesis of radiolabeled compounds of high purity in 1 to 50 millicurie quantities. The synthesis of a wide variety of compounds such as nucleoside, heterocyclic, alkaloids, peptides, natural products, dyes, purine and the like will be requested. Compounds required may include one or more the following radioactive elements: carbon, tritium, sulphur, phosphorous or iodine. Materials will be stored and shipped by the Contractor. The Contractor must provide suitable storage for approximately 250 radiolabeled compounds. MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: The successful Contractor must possess a valid Nuclear Regulatory Commission license (NRC) or a license issued by the State that has entered into an agreement with the NRC (an Agreement State) at the time of proposal submission. All materials must be completely characterized and assayed as to identity, chemical purity and radio purity. A well-equipped analysis laboratory including a HPLC dedicated to radiosynthesis work and adequate library facilities should be available. The Principal Investigator should be trained in organic, medicinal, or radiochemistry, preferably at the Ph.D. level from an accredited school, and should have recent experience in radiochemistry. MANDATORY EXCLUSION: PHARMACEUTICAL, CHEMICAL, OR BIOTECHNOLOGY FIRMS ARE EXCLUDED FROM THIS COMPETITION DUE TO THE PROPRIETARY NATURE OF THE RADIOLABELED COMPOUNDS. A pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotechnology company is defined as an organization which sell drugs and/or chemicals to the general public for profit or is engaged in research leading to such products. It is anticipated that a single cost-reimbursement, incrementally funded, term (level of effort) type contract award will be made for a five-year period of performance beginning on or about June 30, 2004. To assist in the preparation of a proposal, the Government considers the effort to be 3,410 direct labor hours per year. This contract is a recompetition of Contract N01-CM-97022 currently being performed by Research Triangle Institute. The solicitation is scheduled for electronic release approximately August 29, 2003. The proposals will be due approximately 45 days following the actual date of RFP issuance. RFP N01-CM-47001-28 may be accessed through the Research Contracts Branch Home Page by using the following internet address: http://rcb.nci.nih.gov/ It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the above Internet site for the release of this solicitation and amendments, if any. POTENTIAL OFFERORS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR DOWNLOADING THEIR OWN COPY OF THE SOLICITATION AND AMENDMENTS. Point of contact: Carolyn E. Barker, Contract Specialist at e-mail: cb123d@nih.gov; FAX: (301)402-6699; Telephone: (301)496-8620. No collect calls will be accepted.
