Description
The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 intends to negotiate with 3D Systems on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, for purchase of a computer controlled, 3 Dimensional plastic prototyping system using Laser Lithography technology. This Item from 3D Systems is Viper SI2 Stereo Lithography Apparatus with Post Curing Apparatus and includes Material and Hardware Options. Apparatus has a 1 year warranty on all hardware, the lasers are covered for 7,500 hours or 12 months; Buildstation 5.2 Software, 3D Lightyear 1.2 Windows NT part preparation software, 3 training credits valid for 1 year from installation, 2 platforms and installation. The Post Curing Apparatus includes installation and a 1-year warranty. The Material Options include the following polymers : 1-KG Polymer, Accura Sl 10ND, General Purpose/High Temp; Polymer, Accura SI 20ND, Durable/Flexible; Polymer, Accura SI 30ND, Durable/Fast; and Polymer, Accura SI 40ND, High Temp/Tough. The Hardware Option will include Interchangeable Short Vat for the SLA-250/50. Instruction/training provided the VA will enable personnel to adequately operate the system. Software updates will be received at no charge during the warranty period. The System will meet safety standards for equipment and have been independently tested to CE. Firms who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate system which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, no later than 4:30PM on 8/22/03. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above, with Prototyping technology to enable fabrication of medical grade precision plastic components and be effective at making small runs of plastic components, be easy to clean and sterilize, be light weight and enable precision shaping to individual body contours. Notification shall be mailed to Marian Ropelewski, Contracting Officer, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, 7180 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh PA 15206. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals.
