Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented, with additional information included in this notice. This acquisition is being made using simplified acquisition procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ), brand name or equal. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-12. This RFQ has the following line items: The Air Force has a Sole Source requirement for a HD-6000 Degausser and a one-year maintenance agreement. 120 Volts, 60 Hz. Part #: 950-0000. Chamber must accommodate all disk drives and magnetic tape media up to 3.5 in. (89 mm)high by 6 in. (152 mm) wide by 10 in. (245 mm) deep. Effective degaussing field must be 6 in. (152 mm) square by 3.5 in. (89 mm) high. Degausser must meet DoD specifications for purging classified/sensitive information from hard disk media with coercivity ratings up to 3000 Oersteds including zip disks, jazz disks, one-third, one-half and full-height hard drives without removing the disk platters and magnetic tape media up to 2500 Oersteds. Quantity of 1 each. This is a Sole Source with Data Security, Inc.-IAW FAR Part 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider all responses received by the closing date and time. Important Notice: FAR 52.232-33 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer-Central Contractor Registration requires registration in the CCR database. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 335999, the SIC Code is 3679 and the Small Business size standard is 500 employees. These products are for the 88th Communications Group at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. Wright Patterson AFB has determined that Data Security, Inc is the only source capable of providing this requirement.
