- The National Park Service is seeking information on qualified firms to investigate and determine the cause of the shifting/displacement of granite steps located at the Memorial Building at the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site, Hodgenville, Kentucky. The contract will involve the careful removal of the historic granite components; investigation and documentation of the exposed structural framework; and the reinstallation of the historic granite components to their original alignment. Extreme care in handling the granite components is essential and every effort needs to be made to minimize any damage to the historic fabric and/or site. The contractor is responsible for the in-kind replacement of any damaged or broken components. The contractor is responsible for all materials needed to provide a complete product. Prime contractors who are qualified and who intend to submit a bid for the solicitation (when issued) MUST submit the following by 4:00 P.M. EST. on August 8, 2003 by email or fax to: Georgi_wellington@nps.gov. Responses should include the following: (1) A positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for the solicitation as a Prime Contractor; (2) A listing of work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with valid phone numbers; (3) Submit a list of the firm's qualifications to work on both granite and historic structures. Failure to submit all information requested shall result in a contractor being considered "not interested" in this requirement. The current status is Sources Sought and it is a Category Z - Maintenance, repair, and alteration of real property program.
