Description

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services intends to award on a sole source basis under Simplified Acquisition Procedures with TecSec, Inc., 1953 Gallow Road, Suite 200, Vienna, Virginia 22182 a Phase II, logical follow-on, to a current contract to provide CMS with technical systems security support services to complete the Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Pilot Project. The PKI Pilot Project is a plan to develop, implement, test and evaluate a pilot system using Public Key Infrastructure . TecSec possesses an understanding of CMS, it organization and environment, and the status of the CMS Systems Security Initiative. TecSec also demonstrates a familiarity with the PKI technology and its implementation, especially as it has been, and is being pursued at CMS. Any other contractor would nee to take substantial time and effort to familiarize themselves with the application to be used in the pilot project, as well as with CMS infrastructure before they could begin productive work toward completing this pilot project. If there are no affirmative written responses received within (45) calendar days from the published date of this notice, a purchase order shall be awarded.
