Description

Description: Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement. The Government intends to issue a sole source purchase order for quantity 34 Aviation Headset X units without cable/boom microphones, product code 031952 and quantity 34 Cable/Boom Microphone Assemblies including battery-powered ANR, straight cord, 150-ohm dnamic microphone and dual plugs, product code 032009 to Bose Corporation, Mail Cod 271, The Mountain, Framingham, MA 01701-9168. The custom modified headsets will be used on aircraft which require the utilization of headsets with dual plugs and the capability to provide full noise cancellation. The 55th Contracting Squadron intends to award a purchase order by other than full and open competition in accordance with Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2)(ii). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement was made because headsets are configured with patented headset and power control module circuitry which results in full noise-cancellation. No other supply was found that provided full noise cancellation with a dual plug feature.
