Description

NA Directorate of Contracting, Fort Sam Houston, TX intends to issue a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Texas Cave Management Association, Inc. (TCMA), 19936 Scenic Loop Drive, Helotes, TX 780243. This purchase order is provides nonpersonal s ervice for fire ant control, bat habitat maintenance, and maintenance of cave gates and cave security fences for 74 different caves at Camp Bullis, TX. Theses caves contain federally listed endangered species of invertebrates. In addition, many of these caves contain bats and are gated or fenced for human safety. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recognizes that in the Bexar County Area, rare cave species and their habitats are threatened by rare cave species and their habitats are threatened by quarry expansion, construction projects, roads, sewer leaks, pesticides, vandalism, and predation from fire ants. TCMA uses the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recommended and approved method of fire ant control – boiling water and applied to fire ant mounds followed by specific chemical control techniques. Contract period of Performance is to be 1 Sep 03 throug 31 Aug 04. The solicitation documents and incorporates applicable provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-46 and FAR part 12 for commercial items. This proposed sole-source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 561990. This notice of intent is not a request for quotation (RFQ) for competitive quot es. Solicitation number is DABK33-03-T-0081. Anticipated closing date is 12 Aug 03. A determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
