- Description
- The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to solicit and negotiate on a sole source basis with Spatial Systems Associates, Columbia, MD for the acquisition of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) data of 60 digital elevation model (DEM) grids along the Eastern portion of Maryland. The statutory authority for less than full and open competition is 41 USC 253(c)(1), Only One Responsible Source. Less than full and open competition is necessary in order to maintain consistency and continuity with existing LiDAR data, currently archived within the State of Maryland's data holdings, purchased from Spatial Systems Associates. The data was collected at the same time as those currently held by the State, meeting national floodplain mapping standards and specifications, and will provide seamless continuity to those datasets already purchased by the State.
