Description
**The following synopsis is hereby cancelled.** The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, has a requirement for a freezer repository and delivery of the stored specimens. Due to the delivery and pick-up requirements, the contractor is required to be located in the Washington DC Metro area, no further than 30 miles from the main NIH campus in Bethesda, MD . The contractor's facility must be able to store the maximum requirement of 185 government-owned, twenty (20) cubic foot freezers. The contractor's facility must include the equivalent of three (3), -20 degree centigrade walk-in freezers having the dimensions of 12 feet by 20 feet and one (1) +4 degree centigrade walk-in with 100 cubic feet of space. The back-up system shall be equivalent to -20 degree centigrade and equivalent in size to 12 feet x 20 feet walk-in space equipped with independent dual compressor systems. There shall be a repair and parts storage area measuring approximately two hundred (200) square feet. There shall also be an office and packaging area measuring not less than two hundred (200) square feet. The facility shall be in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. Contractor shall provide all labor, transportation, parts, and supervision necessary to pick-up, install, maintain, and store freezers. Contractor will also be required to provide daily delivery service of stored specimens to the NIH main campus and other surrounding locations. The period of performance will be from 01 October 2003 through 30 September 2004 with four (4) one-year options. The contract will include FAR 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. This will be a 100% Small Business Set Aside. Solicitation will be available for download from FedBizOpps on approximately June 23, 2003. No paper copies will be distributed. See numbered note 1.
