Description
NA The Army Contracting Agency, Southern Region Contracting Center (ACA-SRCC) has a project entitled Reconstruction of an Access Control Pont (ACP) for Fort McPherson, GA. The work consists of the Contractor furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipm ent and performing all work in strict accordance with the specifications and plans within the time allotted for the following project. The ACP Installation is for the Main Gate (South) located at Hardee Avenue. The ACP will consist of three inbound and t wo outbound lanes, a gate house two outboard guard booths, a truck inspection area with inspection pit, a rejected vehicle turnaround, an overwatch for Army vehicles, and other ancillary items. The existing Visitors Control Center will remain in use at Fo rt McPherson at its present location. Site work will include and is not limited to demolition and removal, layout, paving, grading, storm drainage, signage, marking, erosion control, utilities, and site amenities. Architectural work will include, and is not limited to, all new occupied structures related to the ACP. These include guard booths, gatehouse, canopy, and truck inspection pit. Electrical, structural, and mechanical work includes, and is not limited to, all work necessary to complete the struc tures and site work mentioned previously. This project will be phased to minimize impact to traffic flow-entering Fort McPherson. There will be three major phases of construction. Each phase will begin after the completion of the previous phase. The fi rst phase will be work related to new roadway between the inbound and outbound ends of the ACP complex. The second phase will be work related to the Wilson Avenue/Walker Drive connector at the outbound end of the ACP Complex, and the third phase will be w ork related to the truck inspection area and the inbound end of the ACP Complex. This requirement is set aside as a 8(a) competitive Firm Fixed Price Construction Contract within the geographical area serviced by Small Business Association for Region 4, a nd other bona fide branch office located within the geographical boundaries of the relevant competitive areas. These areas includes the following states: Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina. The pe riod of performance is for 365 days or 1 year. All other firms are deemed ineligible to submit offers. All work shall be performed in strict accordance with the specifications and drawings. A Bid Bond as well as Performance and Payment Bonds shall be re quired. Estimated cost range of project is between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System code for this acquisition is 236220. The Small Business Size Standard is $28.5 million. The solicitation plus attachments wil l be issued on or about 1 August 2003.
