- Description
- The U. S. Coast Guard has a need for on-call emergency tugboat services in the Puget Sound region of the State of Washington. Based on a decision by the Captain of the Port , the Contractor will deploy emergency tugs to specified locations within the State of Washington and federal waters to counter vessel safety and environmental risks. Based on prevailing conditions, emergency tugs would be strategically placed to counter vessel steering, propulsion, navigation, and structural integrity failures. The emergency tugs are required to gain positive control of the involved vessel to prevent waterway safety management issues involving other vessel traffic and environmental incidents. These tugboat services will be acquired under the authority of FAR Part 13.5 ? Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Solicitation will be issued on or about August 11, 2003. The Solicitation will be issued via Electronic Posting System at www.eps.gov under Vendors, DHS, United States Coast Guard, Commander (fcp) USCG Maintenance and Logistics Command ? Pacific, alameda, CA. Telephone requests for solicitation package will not be taken. The NAICS code is 488330, with a size standard of $6,000,000. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
