Small Business Set-Aside: Total Small Business
Description: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Albuquerque Field Office, has a requirement forType II-B Base Course and Subbase Gradation. The base course shall consist of crushed stone, crushed or screened gravel, caliche, sand or a combination of such materials. Base course aggregate shall be free from vegetable matter and all other deleterious materials, including (but not limited to) silt and clay balls. Type II-B aggregate shall have a percent wear of fifty (50) or less at 500 revollutions when tested in accordance with ASHTO T 96 and the coarse aggregate shall have a soundness loss of eighteen (18) or less when tested in accordance with ASHTO T-104 using magnesium sulfate solution and a test duration of five (5) cycles. For caliche aggregates the soundness loss shall be twenty two (22) or less. The liquid limit shall be twenty five (25) or less and the plastic index shall be six (6) or less. The project is located in El Malpais, the Narrows Picnic Area, off of NM 117 near mile marker 10. The contractor is to provide all necessary material delivered to the prearranged site. Period of performance for this project is to have the base course delivered within one week of award. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns and will be awarded on a firm fixed-price basis. This solicitation will be available on or about August 11, 2003. Bid responses will be due on September 5, 2003.
