- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Brinkmann Instruments Inc, One Cantiague Rd, Westbury, NY 11590. The proposed contract is for Basic V/A System Mva-3 Voltammeter. This specific instrument is required to provide results at sub-ppb concentration levels as well as oxidation states of elements that can be compared with those from collaborator labs that use the same analytical instrument and techniques. This instrument provides the sensitivity, combined with ease-of-use, required for our analytical studies and that is not found elsewhere. Long-standing cooperation between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and collaborating labs could be jeopardized if uniform instrumentation and techniques are not used. Alternatives would be prohibitively expensive for the USGS, and projects would have to be cancelled. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Determination to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government; no additional synopsis will be published.
