Description

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Zonge Engineering, 3222 E. Fort Lowell RD, Tucson, AZ 85716. The proposed contract is for a transient electromagnetic (TEM) induction system to include a multi-channel GDP-32II, dual function NANOTEM/ZEROTEM transmitter system, TEM antenna, vertical stand and NANOTEM card. Although there are other vendors that offer TEM systems, a comparable system from another vendor would be more expensive than the system offered by Zone Engineering. The Zonge system is based on a multi-channel GDP-32 that is fully digital and affords a great deal of expandability. In addition, the Zone Engineering NANOTEM/ZEROTEM dual-function transmitter system allows for the acquisition of very early-time data. The system can be expanded to allow for increased power output (depth of investigation) and can be configured for DC resistivity/IP measurements. System expansion and configuration is accomplished through the addition of integrated circuit cards that can either be rented or purchased from the manufacturer. Zonge Engineering is the only vendor that markets TEM systems that offer multi-channel acquisition and dual-function transmitter capability. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Information will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Determination to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government; no additionl synopsis will be published.
