Description

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) intends to issue a sole source firm-fixed priced follow-on order to Advanced Mechanical Technology, Inc. to continue development of research on pan temperature measurement system for household electric ceramic glass cooking ranges and to provide input to a control system that regulates burner heat output to prevent ignition of cooking materials. This system will be based on a shielded thermocouple-based system that was developed under CPSC contract No. CPSC-S-02-1326. The system regulates burner heat output to prevent ignition of cooking materials on household electric ceramic glass cooking ranges but does not interfere with normal cooking. The focus of this effort will be to validate the results across all model variations and addressing issues of manufacturing related to implementation of this system into existing designs. The Contractor shall prepare a detailed project plan and schedule of activities, monthly status reports, draft and final report, must deliver all hardware, software programs, and codes, etc in accordance with the Statement of Work. Period of performance shall begin on effective date of the contract and shall not extend beyond 150 calendar days after award. The anticipated issuance date is August 18, 2003 with quotation due September 4, 2003. The NAICS code is 335221. No telephone requests for copies of the RFQ will be accepted. It is not anticipated that any other source would be able to perform the work without duplication of costs to the government.
