- Description
- The Western Area Power Administration, Sierra-Nevada Regional Office (SNR) intends to acquire on a Sole Source basis computer software that simulates high voltage power systems. This requirements has been set aside 100% for Small Business with an NAICS code of 334611 and a size standard of 500 employees. This simulator software supports detailed modeling of LTC and phase-shifting transformers, switched shunts, generator reactive capability curves, generator cost curves, load schedules, transaction schedules, dc lines, multi-section lines and remote bus voltage control. Add-ons of this software include Simulator Transfer Capability calculations which determine the maximum MW transfer possible between two parts of the power system without violating any limits commonly performed by system operators or market operations and Simulator PVQV site add on which analyzes system voltage stability and helps fill the industry's need for a user-friendly planning mode tool for analyzing voltage stability and security. This software is available from PowerWord Corporation, 1816 South Oak Street, Champaign, IL 61820 (217) 384-6330. This sole source requirement is being processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. SNR believes PowerWorld is the only known source that has the ability to provide the required software. Anticipated award date is August 11, 2003. This notice is not a request for proposals or quotes. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to satisfy the Government's requirements by emailing Randi Strike at N1GUEST1@wapa.gov or by fax at (916) 985-1933 NLT 7 August 2003. Capability statements must include documentation proving ability to satisfy the Government's requirements. Any information received will be considered for the purpose of conducting a competitive procurement.
