Description

The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals from selected contractors for the repaving of the postal parking at the Pearl City, Hawaii - Main Office. The project generally consists of the following: 1) Remove existing concrete curb, prune trees, trim roots, install root barrier and install new 6-inch x 18-inch concrete curb - 300 LF; 2) Remove existing 30,000 SF asphalt and base. Prepare rough grade (10-inches deep). Compact the entire area to 95% and replace with new 6-inch base and 4-inch asphalt concrete; 3) Overlay 35,000 SF of 2-inch asphalt concrete over paving fabric and tack coat; 4) Key cut and remove 1,000 SF of 2-inch asphalt concrete over paving fabric and tack coat; 5) Saw cut at the customer sidewalk to accommodate two concrete handicap ramps to comply with ADA; 6) Restripe the entire parking lot; paint three handicap logos per local codes and stripe three handicap aisles; 7) Remove and reinstall sixty-three existing concrete wheel stops per USPS directions; and 8) Furnish and install one hundred new wheel stops to match existing per USPS directions. Estimated cost range is $125,000 to $150,000. The work is to be completed within 30 calendar days from the notice to proceed date.
