****PLEASE REGISTER ON FEDBIZOPPS TO RECEIVED RFP. THE SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD FROM FEDBIZOPPS. A HARD COPY WILL NOT BE MAILED TO INTERESTED VENDORS AS STATED IN ORIGINAL SYNOPSIS BELOW.**** The National Marine Fisheries Service, Fish Ecology Division (FED), is research directed at improving up and downstream migrant survival of juvenile and adult salmon through development and testing of mitigration strategies and techniques. The FED requires scientific support services to meet the following objectives: assess the effects of transportation on juvenile salmonids; determine the migration timing and relative survival of transported and in-river migrating spring/summer chinook slamon; measure fish guidance and orifice pasage efficiencies at selected Columbia and Snake River dams; develop and evaluate alternative fish collection and/or bypass strategies; conduct juvenile and ault radio-telemetry, acoustic and PIT-tag studies; conduct artificial propagation and captive broodstock research; and conduct limnological and benthic sampling studies. Task orders will be issued to perform work on an as-needed basis. Work will be performed at Government facilities located at various sites in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, or as appropriate, at the contractor's facility. The period of performance will be for one base year, beginning on or after April 1, 2003 and will include four one-year option periods.
