- Description
- The Virginia Contracting Activity, on behalf of the Defense Intelligence Agency/Missile and Space Intelligence Center (DIA/MSIC), intends to procure the UV-setter 57-F, or equivalent, which is a conventional plate setter that uses Ultra Violet (UV) light to expose a conventional offset plate. The BasysPrints UV-Setter 57F, or equivalent, will have the following features: a 4-up 8.5 x 11 format to be used for commercial offset printing, UV light which allows different contract proof materials to be exposed on a single device, thus printing plates and contract proofs can be processed from the same file. CTP eliminates the need for film and can be used under daylight conditions. The UV setter flat bed system enables imaging of many plate sizes, from the smallest format to 27” X 37”. Pin bars can be interchanged easily for different registration systems. The system must be capable of printing 200 line screen separations for very detailed offset printing. The system must digitally image plates, implement CTP with little to no impact on current systems and existing workflows (must use ISPs existing plates, chemicals, and plate processors), image plates and proofs for greater economy, flat bed vacuum system allowing imaging of any size plate to 25x38, image material 5 mil to 20 mil thick, Use transition to a CTP workflow (must be able to accept imposed files from our current imposition software which is Preps), Use Digital Screen Imaging via a digital micro mirror device, Able to integrate pre-press workflow with CTP device and ink proofer. In addition to the requirement of UV Setter 57-F, or equivalent system, is the following required items/services: Complete installation and training, Service and maintenance program – post warranty year 8 months, BasysPrint CTcP workflow by Xitron Eclipse RIP software, Xitron TrapPro in RIP Trapping Module for Xitron RIP, Xitron Proofing Module Proofer Plug-ins for Epson Plotters, Installation of RIP, ICC Profile processing module for Xitron RIP, Semiautomatic auto plate unloading system for UV-Setter 57F, Spare parts kit for UV Setter 57F, Windows 2000 Server for RIP Dual 1.4 Ghz Pentium, 512 MB Ram, 18 GB and 73GB HD, monitor, HP 5000 ink jet proofer for RIP proofing, and all shipping and handling charges. Delivery and installation will be to Defense Intelligence Agency, Bldg 6000, Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, DC 20340-5100. No request for quotes shall be issued other than this notice.
