DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District , is conducting a market survey to identify sources and to increase competition acquisi tion opportunities for design, construction, and installation of artificial modular marine reef habitat ecosystem. This request is only a market survey, not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list. It is for information only and is not a re quest for proposal (RFP) or announcement of a solicitation. The purpose of this Sources Sought request is to obtain information on the availability of environmentally sensitive reef systems with similar characteristics of a natural barrier reef, that woul d attract a full array of marine species and promote marine growth on all surfaces, provide engineered openings to promote designed flow of micronutrient rich water across all surfaces and increase light access to promote rapid growth of marine life. The design of the reef system should also provide substantial cover and spawning habitat, contain the geometric and physical properties to withstand wave heights and currents associated with 20 year storm events, provide a minimum 25-year life, and require no dredging. Responses are required fifteen (15) days after publication of this notice. Firms interested in being considered shall provide manufacturer's name, product data and written statement of compatibility. The written statement of compatibility shall include necessary backup information and support documentation. A list of projects in which artificial modular marine reef habitat ecosystem have been installed shall be provided. The List shall include exact location of the project (s) and a point of c ontact with phone numbers. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this synopsis nor return the data provided. The results of this synopsis will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of publicat ion of this notice.
