Description
WR-ALC is hosting an Industry Day on 18-19 August 2003, to solicit feedback from interested industry representatives regarding an initiative by the Air Logistics Centers to establish a strategic prime vendor management support program for hazardous material commodities. The program would encompass the complete logistics support and hazardous materials management activities required for delivery of the product to the localized ALC pharmacies. These activities shall include product forecasting, ordering, warehousing, inventory control, transportation, management oversight and dedicated customer service support. The types of hazardous commodities included under this program are defined in FED-STD-313D. All stock classes listed in Table I and some of the stock classes listed in Table II (as to be determined by the government) of FED-STD-313D shall be included in the Prime Vendor Support Program. This program will include an option to extend the prime vendor responsibilities down to the pharmacies and point of use containers. The attached Requirements Sheet provides additional information relative to this program. On the morning of the first day we will convene an open session for general discussion on issues and concerns. Beginning that afternoon and continuing into the next morning we will schedule one-on-one sessions with each vendor interested in discussing specific issues and concerns relative to their company's interests. Each vendor will be allowed 20 minutes of discussion time for the closed sessions. Sessions will be scheduled on a first come-first-served basis. Due to the expected level of interest in the program, we are limiting company participation to just two representatives each. Note: Bundling considerations are yet to be addressed finalized for this acquisition.
