- Description
- NA The U.S. Army Robert Morris Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement to purchase a Vapor Sorption System IGA-002. The Government anticipates awarding a firm fixed price purchase order to HIDEN Analytical, Inc., Peterborough, NH. HIDEN Analytical Inc. is the only supplier of this type of system, which is a custom made system. They are the only known company that can put together the appropriate combination of hardware and software to make the system unique. In the past we have tr ied to put together similar systems from individual components, which did not work. Their system will provided us with the capabilities of a self-enclosed temperature controlled and vacuum environment to obtain precise measurements of adsorption over a var iety of chemicals and materials. The HIDEN IGS-002 Sorption system for vapor generation will be capable of maintaining very low vapor pressures over an extended period time. Correspondingly, vacuum leakage will be negligible over that time period. Using IGA-002s method, there is no carrier gas or mass flow controllers. The IGA system can set and control pressures for several days without a problem and is able to run in the automated isotherm mode. The IGA-002 balance does not suffer from contact with o rganic solvents. It is PTFE coated and does not contain any Duco Cement as it is with the Cahn balance where attachments are made with Duco cement. This system also measures sorption isotherms of food products. There are no other known companies that can meet the Governments needs. Delivery shall be F.O.B. Destination. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) for this procurement is 3826. Questions concerning this synopsis can be directed to Michelle Miller at Michelle.Marie.Miller@us.army.mil. Inquiries shall be made no later than 22 August 2003.
