- Sources Sought: The U. S. Department of Commerce, Hollings Marine Laboratory, plans to procure a MOFLO Flow Cytometer, through DakoCytomation, Inc., the only known source for this equipment. DakoCytomation is the only known manufacturer that custom configures each flow cytometer to the customer's unique specifications. There are special requirements for a high-speed sorter that can be taken on research cruises with user-specific custom design. The equipment and accessories to be procured include one BTA 4 Channel Flow Cytometer, one BTX Optical Bench, a Forward Angle Fluorescence Detector, Elliptical Optics; 488 Filter Set, 4 channel, three Hammamatsu H957-15 (R3869, 185-900mm), Opsi Laser solid state (488mm, 200m), a Manual Sample Block, two 70 Micron Tips, two 100 Micron Tips, Air Compressor System(110V) w/soundproofing, one Vacuum Pump (10" Hg) Ultra quiet, 100v, a Pentium Computer Workstation for Data Acquisition, which includes MOFlo ultra-high speed I/O interface, a Hammamatsu H957-06 (R931B, 300-700mm), and one Sorting Kit, MLS, 2-way SORT, REV H (option for upgrade). NAICS code 334516 applies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. To be considered for this procurement, firms must furnish detailed information about their capability to provide this product. Such information shall include at a minimum: name, telephone number and point of contact, ability to provide the above referenced equipment/accessories, and telephone numbers of firms to whom this equipment or similar equipment has been previously provided. The Central Administrative Support Center, Acquisitions Management Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office must be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) before October 1, 2003. After this date, NO award can be made unless the vendor is registered in CCR. For additional information and to register in CCR pleas access the following website: http://www.ccr.gov/.
