Description

Project number MQNA 03-3005, Solicitation number F61040-03-R-0010, Repair Maintenance Hangar T-820 at Lajes Field, Azores, Portugal, is projected for solicitation in the near future. Currently this project is unfunded but may receive funding prior to 30 Sep 03 but NLT 30 Sep 05. The Unites States Air Force seeks potential sources for this Design-Build contract. Project description is as follows: Revitalize 8818 SM (94,650 SF) hangar. Demolish exterior walls and roof of existing building. Remove corrosion on steel structure. Remove and dispose of hazardous material in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Install new roof and roof decking. Install new metal siding. Overhaul hangar doors. Install new fire detection and suppression systems. Upgrade electrical distribution and lighting. Renovate interior shops. Project includes regional force protection standards. The contractor shall be required to furnish all materials and equipment and shall also maintain an on-site project management/technical support staff at Lajes Field Azores, Portugal. Personnel should include, but are not limited to those necessary to estimate, plan, provide design capability, project management, and quality assurance. The successful contractor will be selected using Low-Price, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procedures resulting in the best value to the Government. The scope of this project is estimated to be between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000 US dollars. The initial phase of this procurement is intended to solicit interest from potential offerors.
