Description

NA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to award one firm-fixed price contract to assist the National Park Service in the Seawall Repair at Liberty Island New York Harbor, New York. The work under t his project covers approximately 400 to 530 linear feet of granite faced concrete seawall. It shall include: 1). Hydro blasting and repairing seawall concrete at locations where granite face stones have fallen away from the seawall. 2). Resetting in place all granite stones which have become loose or fallen from the seawall from various locations along the wall. Repairing broken granite inset stones. Displaced stones shall be recovered from the area at the base of the seawall. 3). Hydro blasting and repoint ing of all granite face stones. This procurement will be UNRESTRICTED. The estimated construction value of the project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The completion period is approximately 180 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The N orth American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 with a size standard of $28,500,000.00. Plans and Specification will be available on or about 26 August 2003. Bid Opening date is on or about 25 September 2003 at 1 P.M. Bid opening will b e held in Room 1841 of 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278. There will be a mandatory Pre-bid site visit for all firms interested in bidding on this project. The site visit is tentatively scheduled for 8 September 2003 at 11:00 A.M. Potential bidders must notify Scott Helmer by 1:00 PM on 3 September 2003 either by fax (212-264-3013) or letter (US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, CENAN-CT 26 Federal Plaza, Room 1843 New York, NY 10278-0090), of their intent to attend the Pre-bid site visit. Part ies shall include a list of names for all employees who plan to attend the visit. Due to enhanced security precautions at Liberty Island, two forms of identification, one being a state or federally issued photo I.D., will be required to attend the meeting. Further information for the site visit will be provided to parties that respond by the required date (3 Sep. 2003). Prior to contract award all members of a firm??????s team who will be working on Liberty Island will have to undergo a security background screening by the National Park Service. The media selected for the issuance of the Solicitation and Amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper cop ies of this Solicitation, and Amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Interested parties may download and print the Solicitation at no charge by going to http://www.nan.usace.army.mil/ (then clicking on Contract & Bid). Project specification f iles and drawings are portable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat reader. Minimum system requirements are 486-based personal computer, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8mb application RAM. A registration page is attached to the website and prospective bidders are required to register and to receive notice of any amendments and/or addenda that may be issued to this solicitation. Utilization of the Internet is the preferred method, however, CDs will be available upon written request stating the Solicitation Number, or Project Name, complete company name and street address. Requirements: DFARS 252.204-70 04 Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurement.
