Description

The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Genetix Limited to furnish, deliver and install a Protein Spot Excision System at the USDA, ARS, Eastern Regional Research Center, Wyndmoor, PA. This system will be used to support its proteomic based research projects. The Gentix GelPix incorporates a number of innovative components such as 16-bit high-resolution camera, multiple light sources and filters, and 8 channel excision head to provide tight integration of components and higher throughput of protein samples separated by two dimensional gel electrophoresis. The GelPix system will include the following: a) high resolution 16 bit camera to allow collection of samples prior to processing; b) have light sources and filters capable of allow system to image commonly used protein stains such as silver, sypro ruby and coomassie; c) off line imaging using high resolution laser scanners and densitomers; d) picking protein capability from gells sized 22 x 26 cm nd smaller; e) capable of picking more than 500 spots per hour to maximize throughput and allow the system to be available when not picking spots; and, f) the protein excision must be enclosed to minimize the possibility of sample contamination. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation is available. Responsible interested parties may submit written information to substantiate demonstrated capability and financial capacity within 5 days of publication of this notice. The NAICS Code is 811310 with a size standard of $6M.
