Description
89th Air Mobility Command, Andrews AFB, Maryland, is seeking information on roofing systems. The roofing system must be an Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) membrane system that meets ALL of the following requirements: 1) Class 90 ? meets UL1580 (withstands wind gusts from 65.7 psf to 90 psf) 2) Passes ANSI/UL 1897 (resists wind uplift pressure of at least 180 psf) 3) Applicable to an existing steel deck 4) Applied using only a "cold" process 5) Carries a no dollar limit warranty of 20 years from Government?s acceptance of the work with the following inclusions: a) Emergency repair performed by others will not void the warranty; b) Damage to EPDM roofing system caused by sustained winds having a velocity of 100 mph or less is covered by the warranty; c) Warranty covers repair or replacement of defective materials and correction of defective workmanship if roofing system becomes non-watertight, develops splits, tears, blisters/separations at the seams, or shows any other evidence of excessive weathering because of defective materials or workmanship. The Government has received information that Carlisle Syntec is the only manufacturer who can provide an EPDM roofing membrane system that meets all of these requirements. The Government is seeking verification that this information is accurate. If not, please explain why. This request is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. All parties that have information to provide must respond to this notice with your company?s name, address telephone number, e-mail address and an explanation as to why you disagree that Carlisle Syntec is not the only manufacturer who can provide the required roofing product.
