Description
NA The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a firm fixed price supply contract for copper tubing per the following specifications. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary to provide the following supply. The tubes required under this solicitation are being manufactured to be used as replacement parts in the rehabilitation of heat exchangers that are used to cool hydroelectric turbine generators. River water will run through the tubes while air passes aroun d the outside. TUBING The tubes are 74 inches long by 5/8 inches (nominal) and are belled to 1.5 inches on one end to facilitate removal and replacement without disturbing remaining tubes. The replacement tubing shall be made of 90/10 CuNi conforming to ASTM B111 for copper alloy. Tubing OD shall be 0.750 inches (5/8 in. nominal) with a minimum wall thickness of 0.049 in. to a maximum of 0.065 in.. Tubes shall be belled on one end to fit exi ting tube sheets. The tubing shall be finned. The fins shall be copper and shall be soldered. Fins shall be spaced at 9 fins per inch. The fin outside diameter shall be 1.484 in. Fin thickness shall be a minimum of 0.012 inches to a maximum of 0.016 inches. Manufacturer??????s specifications of the proposed finned tubing shall be submitted as part of the bid. PACKING AND SHIPPING The contractor shall prepare all tubes for shipment to the government in such a manner as to insure adequate protection from damage in transit, and shall be responsible for and make good any or all damage that may occur prior to acceptance by the governmen t at the specified delivery point. Delivery shall be made to The Dalles Dam powerhouse. The Dalles Dam, is located at exit 88 on Interstate Hwy 84 near The Dalles Oregon. Hours for delivery are between 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday excluding Federal holidays. The administrative/contracting point of contract is Ramona Leuthold at (503) 808-4631. The Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about 18 August, 2003 and the tentative quote due date is 28 August, 2003.
