Description

SOURCES SOUGHT, SITE VISIT AND PRE-SOLICITATION CONFERENCE The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) Fort Worth Western Currency Facility (WCF) is seeking information from all small business sources capable of providing management and operation of guided tour services, a retail sales shop, visitor center, and visitor transportation and maintenance in a very high security area at the WCF facility located at 9000 Blue Mound Road, Forth Worth, TX. In general terms, the contractor will be required to provide all labor and management of the transfer station, information desk, visitor center; providing safe and timely transportation services for visitors to/from the transfer station via shuttle vehicles the vendor will provide. The contractor shall also provide management of guided tours to include guiding visitors through exhibits and displays in the visitor center, and providing cat walk gallery tours; management of all operation of the retail sales shop to include maintaining inventory, product marketing, display setup, conducting daily public sales, reconciliations and deposits of funds, and the management of possible future sales; management of the snack and rest area; and the monitoring of three (3) Automatic Teller Machines (ATM). The North American Industrial Classification System Codes are 713990 for the tour guide, 453220 for the retail shop, and 487110 for scenic transportation; with a corresponding $6 million dollar in average annual sales receipts for each of the aforementioned NAICS codes. This announcement serves to facilitate development of a future request for proposals (RFP), and is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT an RFP. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes ONLY, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Interested entities are encouraged to respond to the Contracting Officer with a Letter of Interest reflecting their company name, points of contact, TIN, DUNNS Nr, CCR Registration Number, Vets 100 Number, if applicable, a brief statement of capabilities and relevant corporate background in the (3) NAICS listed. Submit electronic responses (no longer than 10 pages) to Robert Knauer at Robert.Knauer@bep.treas.gov and CC: to Frank O’Donnel at Frank.Odonnell@bep.treas.gov. . It is requested that all responses be submitted no later than June 30. Solicitation telephone requests will not be honored. Anyone interested in this procurement may register as an interested vendor at the FEDBIZOPPS web site listed above. SPECIAL NOTE: Vendor who intend to be present for the site visit on 9 July 2003 at 9000 Blue Mound Road, must contact Ms. Carol Riggs at (817) 847-3381 or email Carol Riggs at Carol.Riggs@bep.treas.gov in order to provide her with names and driver’s license data for a background security check prior to entry to the facility. YOU MUST be put on a clearance list by Security. Any vendor failing to provide the required data to Ms. Riggs will not be permitted entry. It is your responsibility to ensure you get on the vendor site visit list before 9 July 2003. A list of sources will be compiled from interested small businesses responding to this announcement and a list of sources provided by the Project Manager to include reputable sources known by the BEP and those with whom the BEP has done business in the past. In addition, small business sources identified by the Small Business Specialist obtained from the Treasury Small Business Database will be solicited along with sources identified from the U.S. Small Business Administration Database (www.pro-net.sba.gov). A solicitation will be issued electronically on Federal Business Opportunities (FEDBIZOPPS) web site at www.eps.gov on a later date to be determined(TBD). A formal solicitation will be announced approximately at the end of July or early August 2003 after a site and pre-proposal conference to be held on 9 July 2003 at the facility. It is anticipated/intended that a firm fixed priced type contract with a base year and four option years be awarded NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (18-JUN-2003).
