- Description
- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences intends to award a sole source purchase order to Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, UNC Chapel Hill NC, pursuant to 41-U.S.C. 253(c)(1)?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is a commercial item procurement for the purchase of chemical synthesis of the deoxynucleoside triphosphate derivative of the following guanine oxidation products: Guanidinohydantoin, Spiroiminodihydantoin; 2,5-Diamino-4H-imidizol-4-one; Oxaluric acid; Oxazolone; Cyanuric acid. These materials are needed for ongoing investigations into the fidelity of DNA synthesis. The laboratory of Dr. Avram Gold at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, UNC Chapel Hill NC is the required source for these chemicals because of ongoing collaboration with this laboratory and the absolute requirement for consistency of product and procedures. This project will take approximately one year. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 15 days of date of notice to Elaine Shoaf at the above address or e-mail shoaf1@niehs.nih.gov for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, UNC Chapel Hill NC. The NAICS Code/Size is 325998/500 employees. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
