Description

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a contract modification for the Upgrade of the Tomahawk CCLS capsules to restore the capsules to ?ready for service? condition with a minimum service life of 16 years. In addition, these capsules shall have the capability to be installed in the SSGN Multiple AUR Canister (MAC). With the exception of certain specified requirements, the upgrade shall be accomplished by completing tasks defined in CMP PUB 4710/10D, dated 03 October 2002. NAVAIR intends to award this effort to Raytheon Systems Company (RSC), P.O. Box 11337, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337. Raytheon is the only company capable of performing this effort. Since 1994, RSC has been the sole developer, designer, and manufacturer for the Tomahawk All-Up-Round (AUR). RSC solely possesses the current configuration and manufacturing data for the Tactical Tomahawk missile. RSC currently manages the key requirements, interface, integration, and verification documents for the Tomahawk Weapons System. Because a detailed knowledge and expertise of the Tactical Tomahawk missile is required to perform this upgrade to the CCLS, RSC is the only source capable of accomplishing this requirement in the required timeframe and without duplication of costs.
