Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, Maryland, intends to issue an order under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N00019-01-01-G-0128, on a sole source basis with Pioneer UAV Inc., 9 Schilling Rd, Hunt Valley, MD 21030-0738 in support of the Pioneer UAV system. The order will consist of modifications to the Pioneer Modular Avionics Group (MIAG) to remove obsolescence issues and technical deficiencies. Efforts will include redesigning portions of the MIAG, integrating the system into the PIONEER Air Vehicle, supporting flight test of Pioneer system, and developing all documentations and changes to documentation to support an Engineering Change Proposal to the PIONEER UAV system. Award to anyone other than PUI would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the Navy?s requirements. The estimated period of performance is August 2003 to August 2004. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. MODIFICATION: This announcement is modified to include the following task: The order will also consist of selecting and performing the integration of a replacement Pioneer engine to address technical deficiencies experienced in the field. Efforts will include evaluating and qualifying a replacement engine; integrating the system into the PIONEER Air Vehicle, supporting flight test of Pioneer system, and developing all documentations and changes to documentation to support an Engineering change Proposal to the PIONEER UAV system.
