Description

Construct project work as specified in the plans and specifications for the purpose of restoring wetland conditions and enhancing habitat of a wetland restoration program site in Columbia County, Wisconsin. The major items of work include: removal and disposal of 150 ft of subsurface drain; 1.7 acres of obstruction removal, general excavation (200 CY); earth excavation and fill to construct 4,300 ft of shallow meandering channels (4,200 CY); 5 scrapes (7,650 CY); 9100 Ft of partial ditch fills (13,800 cy); 600 ft of full ditch fills (2,300 cy); 8 ditch plugs (10,700 cy); 5 embankments (6,600 cy); 6 water control structures with PVC pipe (230 ft of 6-inch dia, 432 of 8-inch dia and 200 ft of 18-inch dia sizes; and appurtenances (couplers, slide gates, bar guards, etc), and seeding all earth fill areas (3.1 ac). Contractor will be required to complete two work areas this year and three work areas in the Spring of 2004. Range of cost is $25,000 to $100,000. A site showing is scheduled for September 16, 2003 9:00 AM at the USDA Service Center, 2912 Red Fox Run Road, Portage, Wisconsin. For directions call location at (608) 742-5361.
