Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. Potential sources are sought to provide aircraft observers/equipment operators to accompany Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Special Agent/Pilots on surveillance missions. Home base locations Boston, MA; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Fairfield, NJ; Atlanta, GA; New Orleans, LA; Detroit, MI; and Chicago, IL. There is a possibility that foreign locations could be added in the future. Under the direction of the Resident Agent in Charge in the area of operation, the observers will perform air to ground surveillance from fixed wing and rotor wing aircraft and will operate flir, wescam, photographic, direction finding and audiovisual equipment. In addition, the observers will have sufficient surveillance and investigative expertise to identify smuggling operations and direct ground units during surveillance, provide cover during the execution of search and arrest warrants, consult with US attorneys and local District Attorneys in the development of court cases, provide testimony in Federal and state court proceedings, and to participate as an instructor in observer training seminars for local, state and Federal agencies. The observer will have experience in law enforcement, have a desire to fly, be able to work flexible hours, be able to work weekends and holidays on short notice, be able to travel away from home base, be able to work in extreme environmental conditions (heat/cold), have knowledge of the geographical area assigned, be able to communicate effectively and be willing to learn to operate specialized equipment.
